Watercolour classes

A collaboration between Green Fox Workshops and The People’s University of Fishponds , this course will help you to develop your skills with working with watercolour to create a final watercolour kingfisher bird. You will experiment with a range of materials and techniques using both watercolour paints and pencils. I will go through a step by step method, demonstrating each new technique. All abilities welcome; particularly suited to beginners. All materials will be supplied. This course needs a minimum of 10 people to go ahead.
We are very fortunate to be using local photographers Richard Scantlebury’s photo’s to work from for our kingfisher bird paintings. Check out his work here https://www.flickr.com/photos/richscats/
The first session will focus on learning how to successfully draw a kingfisher bird. I will demonstrate how using simplified shapes can be turned into a beautiful drawing that you can be proud of. We will apply a wash to the background suitable to the Kingfisher’s surroundings.
The second session will focus on applying background colour and the third adding detail.
